In two separate road accidents in Kyrenia and Nicosia, five people were injured
Over the weekend in Northern Cyprus, two different road accidents occurred in Kyrenia and Nicosia, resulting in injuries to five people. All of them were treated at the hospital and have already been discharged.
According to the police press service, the first accident with four injured occurred on Karakız Street in Kyrenia. A 19-year-old girl, driving under the influence of alcohol, failed to yield while entering the main road from a side street.
Mustafa Chagatai did not reduce speed and did not give way to the car driven by a 43-year-old man. As a result of the collision at the intersection, one of the cars crashed into a tree, while the other hit a fence on the sidewalk.
Four people were injured in the accident: the intoxicated female driver herself and three young female passengers in her car aged between 20 and 25. All four injured were taken to Akcicek Hospital in Kyrenia and discharged after treatment. The investigation into the causes of the accident is ongoing.
The second accident with one injured occurred on Mustafa Russo Street in Nicosia. A 22-year-old young man driving a car towards the city center hit a 21-year-old female pedestrian who was trying to cross the road.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital in Nicosia and discharged after treatment.
