In Famagusta, EMU announces tuition discounts for children of alumni — 25% (up to 50%)
Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Famagusta announced on August 28, 2025, that it will provide tuition discounts for the children of its alumni: a 25% discount applies when enrolling in a bachelor’s or associated program (ön lisans), and if both parents are EMU graduates, the discount can reach 50%.
University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç emphasized in a statement that EMU considers students and alumni part of a single “family” and aims to reduce the financial burden on families by providing support in the form of scholarships and discounts. According to him, the goal of the initiative is to “support the academic path of alumni’s children and strengthen generational continuity.”
For residents of Northern Cyprus, this represents a real saving when planning their children’s higher education: the discount applies to EMU tuition and may influence the choice of study location. The university’s announcement does not include technical details about application procedures or the effective date of the terms; applicants and parents are advised to contact EMU’s admissions office or scholarship department to clarify the rules and required documents.
