In Famagusta, another underwater hunter was caught without a buoy
A criminal case has been initiated in Famagusta against another individual who was fishing in the sea without the authorities' permission. The underwater hunter also lacked a signaling buoy.
According to the police spokesperson's statement, a 40-year-old man was discovered in the sea near the port of Famagusta on Monday around 09:00. The suspect was hunting for fish with an underwater gun without the authorization of the competent authority and without a signaling buoy. These are mandatory conditions for engaging in underwater hunting in Northern Cyprus.
Appropriate legal measures have been taken against the violator, and a criminal case has been filed against the individual. The investigation is ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that two more enthusiasts of underwater hunting were caught in the Famagusta area for similar violations.
