In Famagusta, the arrest of two suspects in a car wash theft has been extended
In Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, the court extended the detention of two suspects in a car wash theft for three days; the case was reviewed on November 11.
According to the case materials, A.A. and Ch.Ö. were detained on suspicion of entering a car service and stealing several items. Police officer Ekrem Yılmaz reported that the incident occurred on October 25: 100 prayer beads, 4 sunglasses, one battery charger per suspect, and one coil disappeared from the scene.
The police stated that the stolen items have not been found. During the investigation, A.A. was identified and detained on November 6, and Ch.Ö. on November 9. Law enforcement noted that the investigation is ongoing, additional testimony must be collected, earlier statements confirmed, and the possible involvement of third parties determined.
After reviewing the prosecution’s arguments regarding the need for further investigation and evidence seizure, the court granted the police request and extended the suspects' detention for three days.
