Cyprus's first Olympic Theme Park to be created in Famagusta
The project for the first "Olympic Theme Park" in Cyprus has been presented in Famagusta, to be implemented in cooperation between the municipality and the TRNC National Olympic Committee.
The park is planned for construction in the Tuzla district on 76 donums of municipal land. The project targets not only professional athletes but also the general public. In addition to sports infrastructure, it features green zones, a barrier-free environment, and spaces for recreation and events.
The project presentation took place in the Gazimağusa Municipality conference hall. It was attended by Mayor Süleyman Uluçay, President of the National Olympic Committee Orçun Kamalı, representatives of sports federations, and the project architects.
According to Mayor Uluçay, the park will make a significant contribution to the development of the country's sports infrastructure, strengthen the culture of a healthy lifestyle, and create new opportunities for youth.
Olympic Committee head Orçun Kamalı noted that investing in youth and sports opens doors to the international arena, emphasizing the importance of a high-quality and professional approach to building sports facilities.
Representatives from the Tennis and Gymnastics Federations also expressed support for the initiative, noting that the new complex will help address the shortage of specialized sports halls and serve as a meaningful gift for the city's children and youth.
