A Suspect Has Been Detained in Famagusta Over Fuel Tampering and Death Threat
In Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, S.K. (male, 22) was detained on suspicion of pouring fuel on a parked car and leaving a note threatening murder. The incident occurred last night around 22:30 near a residential building.
According to the police press release, the car’s paintwork was damaged due to the fuel tampering, and a cardboard note with a written threat was left on the left front windshield wiper. Following a report, an investigation was conducted, resulting in S.K. being identified and detained.
In Beyarmudu, E.F. (male, 42) was detained for disturbing public order; a blood alcohol level of 292 mg was recorded, and he was caught in flagrante for loud behavior in a public place.
In Dipkarpaz, at Zaferburnu Cape, the coast guard discovered two men — N.T. (male, 19) and H.A.A. (male, 20) — engaged in illegal net fishing about 100 meters from the shore without proper authorization; they were fined administratively and a legal case was initiated.
In Lefkoşa, approximately one gram of a substance presumed to be cannabis was found on H.U.Ç. (male, 20); he and his alleged associates Y.E.A. (male, 21) and U.K. (male, 21) were detained.
During widespread police checks, one additional person was detained for being on the territory without a residence permit.
In Yeni Boğaziçi, Z.K. (male, 60) was additionally detained for the misappropriation of stolen paint: previously, it was established that on October 9, suspects S.A. (male, 35) and N.S. (male, 51) stole five 15-kg containers of exterior paint, after which Z.K. took possession of the stolen goods knowing their origin.
The police investigation into the listed incidents is ongoing.
