IN FAMAGUSTA, ANOTHER RESTAURANT IS CLOSED DUE TO UNSANITARY CONDITIONS
The Municipal Police Department in Famagusta is sealing catering establishments and retail outlets where sanitary conditions are violated. Another restaurant has been closed for improper food storage.
In total, as a result of inspections conducted by the Police Department this week, the operation of one butcher shop and two restaurants has been temporarily suspended.
During supervisory activities at a takeout restaurant, a packet of chicken stored outdoors was confiscated, and a large quantity of food was found to be stored in unsanitary conditions. Inspections also revealed that the storage and kitchen of the establishment were in a terrible sanitary and hygienic state.
Currently, the establishment is sealed. If, after addressing the violations, the restaurant still does not meet sanitary conditions, the owner will face a fine equivalent to half the minimum wage.
It is worth noting that another restaurant in Famagusta was previously closed for unsanitary conditions.
