Man assaults ex-wife in Gönyeli: court bans him from traveling abroad
Police officer Salih Tanırıkulu appeared in court to present the circumstances of the incident.
According to him, on February 15, 2026, around 16:20, at the intersection of Şht. Mustafa Sakallı Street and Atatürk Avenue in Gönyeli, an argument broke out between the suspect and his ex-wife, F.A., because the man was speaking loudly to the children. During the conflict, he began shouting, waving his arms, and behaving aggressively.
Police stated that the suspect then approached the car where his ex-wife was in the front passenger seat, grabbed her through the open window, and after the woman exited the vehicle, pulled her hair and punched her in the face.
Following the complaint, the man was detained the same day.
Judge Zehra Yalkut Bilgeç ruled to ban the suspect from traveling abroad, ordered him to pay a cash bail of 20,000 Turkish Liras, and required a guarantor bond of 400,000 Liras.
