Two motorcyclists injured in accidents in Girne and Lefkoşa
Two road traffic accidents occurred in Lefkoşa and Girne, resulting in injuries to motorcyclists.
Accident in Lefkoşa
The accident happened around 07:30 on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. According to police, a 49-year-old car driver, while turning right at the Yakın Doğu Boulevard intersection, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and blocked the path of a motorcycle heading east.
As a result of the collision, the 39-year-old motorcyclist suffered a fractured right leg. He was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa and admitted to the orthopedics department.
Accident in Girne
The second accident occurred around 09:30 on Karaoğlanoğlu Street in Girne. A 73-year-old pickup truck driver, while performing a U-turn from the roadside, entered the roadway and blocked the path of a motorcycle driven by a 24-year-old.
After the collision, the motorcycle was thrown forward and crashed into a parked car.
The injured motorcyclist was taken to the same hospital in Lefkoşa, where he was placed under observation in the thoracic surgery department.
Police are investigating both incidents.
