Candle causes apartment fire in Girne
A fire occurred on the morning of April 14, around 08:00, in Kyrenia on Şehit Hasan Nural Cevdet Sokak.
According to the police, a curtain caught fire in the bedroom of an apartment — presumably due to a lit candle falling onto the fabric.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames. As a result of the fire, furniture and various items in the bedroom were damaged, and the walls of the apartment were covered in soot from the smoke.
During the fire, two residents from the floor above were trapped in their apartment, but firefighters were able to safely evacuate them.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
