The 10th City Festival has kicked off in Kyrenia: music, trade, and street food until August 1
On July 30, the 10th edition of the city festival “Girne Çarşı Şenliği” began on Ziya Rızkı Street (Ziya Rızkı Caddesi). The traditional event is organized by the Kyrenia Municipality and will run through August 1.
The festival takes place daily from 17:00 to 23:00 and offers a rich program: musical performances, DJ shows, street concerts, gastronomic pavilions, as well as special sales and promotional zones. Local producers, artists, craftsmen, and restaurateurs participate in the event.
According to the organizers, “Girne Çarşı Şenliği” has become an integral part of the city’s cultural life over the past ten years. Each year it attracts not only local residents but also tourists, supporting small businesses and promoting the historical center of Kyrenia.
To ensure participants' safety, the municipality has temporarily restricted vehicle traffic in the city center during the festival. This has expanded space for pedestrians and created a convenient, congestion-free festival area.
The organizers emphasize that the main goal of the event remains the support of the urban economy, revitalization of the historic shopping street, and fostering a sense of cultural unity. Entry to the festival is free.
Residents and guests of the city are invited to take part in the three-day celebration and enjoy the festive atmosphere in one of the most picturesque corners of Northern Cyprus.
