Digital Mammography Machine Delivered to Famagusta State Hospital
Famagusta State Hospital has received two state-of-the-art medical devices—a digital mammography machine and a C-arm Scopy system used in surgery. This marks the first time such advanced equipment has been available at the hospital.
According to TRNC Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, the new equipment will bring a major breakthrough in healthcare across Northern Cyprus. He emphasized that the mammography machine provides high-quality digital imaging with minimal radiation exposure. Additionally, its high-speed imaging capabilities will significantly increase the number of patients who can be screened daily.
The mammography machine, valued at approximately 5 million Turkish lira, is designed not only for diagnostic purposes but also for preventive screenings.
"With this device, we can detect even the smallest abnormalities, allowing for early diagnosis of diseases. This is especially crucial for cancer screening and detection," the minister stated.
The second device, the C-arm Scopy, is primarily used for surgical procedures. It will play a key role in orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, and general surgery, helping to improve both efficiency and precision in operations.
This advanced digital imaging system delivers clear, real-time visuals with minimal radiation exposure, enhancing the safety and effectiveness of surgical interventions.
The total cost of the mammography machine and C-arm Scopy system amounts to 10 million Turkish lira.
