Wholesale Market and Social Housing Project Planned for Güzelyurt
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, leader of the National Unity Party (UBP), met with residents of Güzelyurt at an iftar dinner, where he announced plans to build a wholesale market and launch the city’s first social housing project in the near future.
During the gathering, Üstel revealed that one of the planned wholesale markets across the country will be established in Güzelyurt. The project designs have already been completed, and once the site selection and land assessment are finalized, the tender process will begin.
Additionally, he confirmed that on March 28, the foundation stone will be laid for the first social housing project in Güzelyurt in many years.
“We are pleased to share good news with the residents of this region and our country ahead of the upcoming holiday. Construction will continue in designated areas, and through this project, we aim to help young people become homeowners and encourage them to build their future here,” Üstel stated.
The government’s plans for Güzelyurt also include the construction of a 15,000-ton cold storage facility for citrus fruits and the completion of the city’s hospital by the end of the year.
