A new covered market has opened in İskele

The İskele Municipality announced that as of January 30, 2026, the weekly market has officially started operating in a new covered complex. Although the official opening ceremony is scheduled for February, the authorities decided to open the market earlier so that vendors could adapt to the new conditions and residents could evaluate the updated space in advance.
The new covered market is a modern trading complex with designated areas for vegetables, fruits, and other goods. The relocation is expected to improve trading conditions, enhance sanitary control, and provide comfort for shoppers regardless of weather conditions.
Special attention has been given to infrastructure: parking spaces and service areas are provided within and around the complex, which should reduce traffic congestion and resolve the issue of chaotic parking that was typical of the previous market location.
