Republican march and torch procession held in Iskele
The municipality of Iskele organized yesterday evening a torch procession and a march of the Republic on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the formation of the TRNC on 15 November.
The march, which began at 16:30 in front of the House of Culture of the Municipality of Iskele, ended in front of the Atatürk monument.
According to the information provided by the municipality, the marchers carried posters depicting the first President-Founder of the TRNC, Rauf R. Denktash, and the leader of the struggle for freedom and existence of Doctor Fazil Kuchuk, as well as a large banner with the inscription «Happy Republic Day».
The marches and torchlight processions were attended by schoolchildren, sports clubs, associations and residents of Iskele.
