In İskele, a drunk driver reversed upon seeing a police checkpoint and caused a collision
In İskele, Northern Cyprus, at around 02:00, a 29-year-old man with an alcohol level of 83 milligrams attempted to reverse upon seeing a police checkpoint and was involved in a traffic accident on an unnamed road.
According to the report, the driver, M.D., was operating a private car carelessly and, while attempting to reverse, collided with another vehicle moving in the same direction, driven by a 34-year-old woman, Y.L. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
M.D. was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic accident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
