During Operation "Dynamite" in Northern Cyprus, a drug trafficking gang was apprehended. The court has detained the suspects for one day.
According to a police officer’s testimony at the court session, information about the suspects possessing drugs was received by law enforcement on August 21 at around 10:00 a.m.
The suspects were found in a rented vehicle near Tatlısu. Upon seeing the police, they attempted to flee. One suspect was caught red-handed at the crime scene, while two others were arrested after a chase. During the pursuit, the police had to use their service weapons and fired four shots into the air.
During the chase, the fugitives discarded a bag containing 50 grams of cannabis, 4 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of cocaine, and 6 ecstasy pills.
The drug traffickers were apprehended in the village of Vadili. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an additional 5 grams of cocaine, 162,000 lira, 3,000 pounds sterling, and 200 euros in cash. The police believe that the money was obtained from drug sales.
After reviewing the police testimony, the court decided to detain the suspects for one day for further investigation.
