THE FIRST ANTI-SMOKING POLYCLINIC OPENED IN KYRENIA
Last weekend, a tobacco cessation clinic opened in Northern Cyprus. The only department of its kind will operate at the Akcichek Hospital.
According to information provided by the TRNC Ministry of Health, the clinic was opened by the head of the Ministry of Health, Hakan Dinchürek.
According to the chief physician of the Akchichek Hospital in Kyrenia, Beykhan Berov, the clinic was opened at the hospital with the aim of raising public awareness about the dangers of smoking and serving people who want to quit smoking, but cannot do so without professional support.
Every Wednesday, the clinic will be visited by chest specialist Aishe Baha and her team. Patients can contact the smoking cessation clinic by making an appointment by calling 1101.
The clinic will use modern treatment methods, including medications, and provide psychological support.
The head physician of the hospital also recalled that November 17 is World Lung Cancer Awareness Day, and November 18 is World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Day.
