Contract signed for the construction of the first multi-storey car park in Kyrenia

The tender for the construction and lease of the first multi-storey car park in Kyrenia has been completed. The contract signing took place the day before.

The winner of the tender, published by the Kyrenia municipality on June 7, was Paramaribo Turizm Ltd. (Pasha Group). The results of the tender procedure became official after the signing ceremony, which took place yesterday in the city council meeting room.

The contract was signed by Mayor Murat Şenkul on behalf of the city authorities, and by General Manager Uğur Pirinçcioğlu on behalf of the contractor company Pasha Group.

According to the document, the car park project, leased for 25 years, will serve 230 vehicles. The construction of the car park is planned to be completed within a year. The project aims to solve the serious parking space problem in the region.

The car park will provide services during working hours (08:00 - 17:00) in accordance with the Kyrenia municipality parking tariffs, and after working hours, parking will cost an amount determined by the winning company with the right derived from the contract (providing for an increase up to 10 times the tariff).

Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul thanked all the companies participating in the tender for the construction of the multi-storey car park, which is the first in Kyrenia, and emphasized that there is a serious need in the country for such public-private partnerships.

According to the mayor, steps will be taken in the near future for a second similar project in the Kervansaray region.
