Water supply will be cut off for the whole day tomorrow in Famagusta
On Wednesday, July 23, the city of Famagusta will experience a complete suspension of water supply for the entire day. This was announced by the municipal authorities, stating that the shutdown is due to scheduled technical maintenance at the city’s main reservoir.
Utility workers will carry out comprehensive maintenance: cleaning, inspection, and repair of equipment, as well as replacement of worn-out components. These measures are essential to ensure stable and safe water delivery in the future. Once the work is completed, water supply will gradually resume – first in the city center, then in all other areas.
The municipality strongly advises residents to prepare in advance for the outage. Specifically, it is recommended to store sufficient water for drinking, cooking, hygiene, and other domestic needs. Special attention should be given to ensuring water for children, the elderly, and individuals with special needs. It is also advised to avoid using washing machines and dishwashers on the day of the shutdown to prevent malfunctions.
Water supply is expected to resume in the evening of the same day, July 23, once all necessary work is completed. Residents are encouraged to follow updates from utility services in case of any changes to the schedule.
