In Lefke, 530 bottles of counterfeit alcohol were seized

At a supermarket in the settlement of Gemikonagi, part of the Lefke district, police seized 530 bottles of alcoholic beverages that were being sold without the proper license.
The operation took place after receiving information about possible violations. During the inspection, it was found that the store offered various types of alcohol for sale, but the owner did not have the necessary permits for such activity.
All 530 bottles were confiscated. The police emphasized that the volume of seized products indicates that the illegal trade could have been ongoing for some time.
A case has been opened against the supermarket owner. He faces liability for violating alcohol trade regulations. The police will continue the investigation to determine how long the illegal sales took place and whether other persons were involved in the scheme.
The case caused a stir in Gemikonagi, as strict licensing control is enforced in the region, especially in areas with tourist traffic.
