2 g of Methamphetamine Seized in Lefkoşa During Search, Suspect Arrested
In Lefkoşa, Northern Cyprus, a suspect E.K. was detained during a house search on September 20. According to police reports, the search was conducted by the Crime Prevention Department LPM and the Forensic Investigation Unit LPM with a court warrant in the Taşkınköy area between 20:45 and 21:15.
The police stated that three white pieces of plastic film were found on a table in the room, along with 2 grams of methamphetamine in a transparent bag, seven white tablets, a gas torch with a hose, and four glass tubes with drug residues. All items were seized as evidence.
The suspect was taken into custody and granted three days for investigative procedures. The police reported that the seized samples were sent for analysis, and other physical evidence was sent to the fingerprint examination unit. Later analysis confirmed that the bag contained methamphetamine, while the tablets were not narcotics but prescription drugs issued under a green prescription.
According to the police, the suspect has ongoing cases for similar and other offenses; the investigation requested detention. Judge Şevket Gazi ordered the suspect to be held in pretrial detention for up to one month.
