The Nicosia Turkish Municipality (Lefkoşa) continues its inspections of businesses for hygiene, food safety, and working conditions. Inspections are carried out both day and night.

Particular attention is paid to bakeries, which are especially active at night during the Ramadan period.

According to the municipality, from the beginning of February to March 12, four inspection teams checked 518 establishments, including restaurants, cafes, pastry shops, production facilities, and stores.

As a result of the inspections, 26 businesses were issued warnings, and owners were reminded of the need to comply with sanitary standards.

Additionally, specialists took water samples in 13 districts, which were sent to the state laboratory for analysis.

The municipality announced that intensified inspections will continue until and during the Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayram) holiday.
