Asphalting to Begin in Suriçi, Nicosia — Some Streets Will Be Closed
Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) has announced that road scraping and asphalt paving works will begin in the Suriçi (Walled City) area starting February 28. Initially, work will take place on Zühtüzade Street and Karababa A and Karababa B Streets; these streets will be closed to motor vehicle traffic.
Furthermore, on March 1, maintenance and repair work on the road surface is planned for Yüzb. Tekin Yurdabak Street. Until the works are completed in these areas, traffic will be restricted or completely closed.
The municipality asks drivers and road users to comply with traffic management signs and follow the temporary routes established at the work sites. Information regarding the duration and exact reopening times of the sections will be provided as the work progresses.
For residents and motorists, this means the need to plan routes in the center of Nicosia in advance for the specified dates and to take into account possible delays when traveling in the Suriçi district.
