TÜRKSOY Opera Days to Take Place in Northern Cyprus This September

The traditional TÜRKSOY Opera Days, organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), are set to take place in the TRNC and Turkey. The concerts will be held at Bellapais Abbey, Othello Castle in Famagusta, and in Ankara.

According to information from the Department of Culture under the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Culture, and Environment, the XXV TÜRKSOY Opera Days will feature Neyla Egemen, an opera singer from the TRNC, accompanied by piano.

The schedule is as follows:

• September 19 at Bellapais Abbey
• September 20 at Othello Castle in Famagusta
• September 25 in Ankara

Since 1994, TÜRKSOY Opera Days have been held in collaboration with the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, the Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the International Organization of Turkic Culture.

This year’s event is dedicated to Kamran Aziz, the first female composer from Northern Cyprus.

The concerts will feature artists not only from the TRNC but also from TÜRKSOY's member countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan. Performances will include both world classical music and national opera arias from these countries.

Concerts at Bellapais Abbey and Othello Castle will start at 8:00 PM. All performances are open to opera enthusiasts, and admission is free.
