Security Guards Have Started Working in Schools in Northern Cyprus

The Ministry of Education of Northern Cyprus announced that 35 security guards have already started working in schools since the beginning of the academic year. This initiative is part of the "Safe Education – Safe Future" program, which aims to enhance the protection of students and teachers.
The Ministry emphasized that security personnel will maintain order in educational institutions, help prevent potential incidents, and ensure a calmer atmosphere on school premises. According to ministry representatives, the work will not be limited to current appointments: the needs of each school will be assessed, and additional security staff may be deployed if necessary.
It has not yet been specified which schools currently have security on duty and how the personnel are distributed. Information about the training received by the staff and their specific authority in working with children and teachers has also not been provided. Nevertheless, the authorities assure that this new measure will be an important step toward creating a safer educational environment.
