A 5-Meter-Long Dead Beaked Whale Washed Ashore in Tatlısu

A dead male beaked whale has washed ashore in the Tatlısu area on the coast of Northern Cyprus.
According to information published by Kemal Başat, the animal is approximately 5 meters long and weighs around 1.5 tons.
The incident has once again drawn attention to similar cases: about three years ago, 13 beaked whales were stranded between Paphos and Gaziveren.
Staff from Taşkent Nature Park are carrying out a complex operation to remove the body from the rocky section of the coastline. After transportation to the center, a necropsy will be conducted to determine the possible cause of the animal’s death.
The investigation is ongoing.
