In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), fraudsters who sold other people's houses and land have been arrested
Another case of fraud has been uncovered in the real estate market in Northern Cyprus. The police have arrested two culprits who were selling houses and land to unsuspecting citizens, which they did not actually own.
According to the police press service, during the period from December 12 to 13, a 36-year-old suspect obtained £95,000 by selling someone else's land in Iskele. In the course of the investigation, the person who prepared a fake property ownership document was arrested.
It was also revealed that between 2020 and 2022, a 38-year-old director of a real estate company from Famagusta agreed to sell a house in the Iskele area that did not belong to him to a person living abroad. Deceptively, he received $37,438 from the client. The suspect has been arrested, and the investigation into the case is ongoing.
