520 Kilograms of Illegal Meat Seized in the TRNC
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), authorities have confiscated 520 kilograms of meat that was illegally brought in from the Republic of Cyprus. The suspect has been arrested.
According to the police press office, the operation was carried out by the Güzelyurt police department in Gayretköy. During a search of a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old man, officers discovered a large quantity of meat from both small and large livestock, totaling 520 kilograms.
It has been confirmed that the illegal meat was smuggled into the TRNC from the Republic of Cyprus.
The vehicle owner is accused of illegally importing and storing the duty-free meat. Both the contraband products and the vehicle have been seized as evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
