Sleeping Driver Survives After Van Plunges Off 55-Meter Cliff in TRNC
A man in Northern Cyprus miraculously survived after his van plunged 55 meters off a cliff into the sea while he was asleep inside. However, he sustained serious injuries.
According to the police press office, the accident happened over the weekend near Aşıklar Hill, along the Kayalar-Sadrazamköy main road. Fatih Daşkın, 29, had been sleeping in his van when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the cliff and crashed into the sea below.
Emergency responders, including police, civil defense teams, and paramedics, rushed to the scene. Rescuers managed to pull the injured driver back up the cliff and transported him to Akçiçek Hospital in Kyrenia for urgent medical treatment.
The police are currently investigating the incident.
