Criminal case initiated against two spearfishers in the TRNC
A criminal case has been initiated in Northern Cyprus against two individuals who were illegally fishing in the sea. The men were caught red-handed with spear guns in the area of Silver Beach in Famagusta.
According to the police press service, the incident occurred on Sunday around 20:00. The detained spearfishers are 41 and 42 years old. At the time of the arrest, they were unlawfully hunting with their spear guns, without using a marker buoy.
The police stated that measures were taken against the individuals, a criminal case has been initiated, and the investigation is ongoing.
