School Psychological Counseling Regulation Comes into Effect in the TRNC

The new School Psychological Counseling and Guidance Regulation has officially come into effect in Northern Cyprus. After being approved by the Council of Ministers, the regulation was published in the "Official Gazette."

This regulation, established under the authority of Articles 50 and 70 of the National Education Law, aims to set the guidelines for creating and managing psychological counseling and guidance services within educational institutions under the Ministry of National Education.

It outlines the principles for setting up these services, the roles and responsibilities of psychological counseling and guidance units in schools, and the duties of the staff working in these departments.

With the enactment of this new regulation, the previous "School Guidance and Psychological Counseling Regulation" has been repealed, but ongoing work under the old regulation will continue unaffected.
