In TRNC, Two Bodies Washed Up on Shore in a Day
Within one day, two lifeless bodies were found washed up on the shore in Northern Cyprus. This time, the decomposed bodies were discovered on the coast in Chatalkoy.
According to local media reports, the first lifeless body was found around 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, and the second one was found at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Both bodies belonged to men, and both sustained serious injuries.
The identities of both deceased individuals have not yet been established, as in previous instances, no documents were found with them, and the bodies themselves were significantly decomposed. Police investigation is ongoing.
It is worth noting that the number of bodies found on the shore since the beginning of January has reached five. Previously, male and female bodies were found on beaches in Dipkarpaz, and another male body was found in the area of Bafra hotels. In all cases, identifying the bodies has proven impossible, as none of them had any identification documents on them, and due to their advanced decomposition.
Melisa Turkkala, a legal consultant with the Refugee Rights Association, speculates that the deceased were likely Syrian refugees, as the clothing they wore was produced in Syria.
