TRNC Launches Loan Package for Pedigree Small Livestock Purchases

A new loan package has been introduced in Northern Cyprus to support farmers in purchasing pedigree small livestock. The loan offers a six-month grace period and a 36-month repayment plan, with applications open at selected banks.

Government Support for Livestock Farmers

Announcing the details of the program, TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel emphasized the government's commitment to supporting local producers:

“We continue to implement reforms and development projects, providing long-overdue support to our people. We are fulfilling our promises and standing by our farmers—starting with this loan initiative for small-scale livestock breeders that we previously announced.”

Loan Package Details

  • Grace period: 6 months
  • Annual interest rate: 21%
  • Repayment term: 36 months
  • Flexible payment options: Equal monthly payments or installments every 3, 6, or 12 months, based on the bank agreement
  • No additional fees or charges, apart from standard interest and any third-party banking costs

The loan is available to individuals and businesses seeking to import certified pedigree sheep that are disease-free, suited to Northern Cyprus’ climate, and approved by the TRNC Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The initiative aims to boost sheep populations, improve breeding quality, and enhance both meat and sheep milk production.
