Six Injured in Multi-Car Pile-Up on the Girne–Nicosia Highway
Six people were injured in a chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles on the Girne–Nicosia highway.
According to a statement from the police press office, the accident happened on Friday evening at around 7:00 PM. A 23-year-old driver, heading toward Nicosia, failed to brake in time for a vehicle that had slowed down due to a traffic jam ahead. The impact caused a domino effect, pushing the second vehicle into a third one that was already stopped.
Among the injured were 24-year-old Sevgi Toprak; 26-year-olds Mahiettin Toprak Halil Gülyaprağı and Merve Gülyaprağı; 28-year-old Kudratullah Babakhan; and 27-year-old Said Gani Malang. All were taken to Nicosia State Hospital.
After receiving medical treatment, four of the injured were discharged, while two remain under observation.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
