Turkey's Directorate of Communications has reissued the book titled "Who is to Blame? Today's Situation Cannot Be Viewed Apart from the Past," which explores the Cyprus issue. The preface for this edition was written by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In his introduction, President Erdoğan described the Cyprus issue as a "complex phenomenon, with negotiations that have been ongoing for a long time and remain unresolved." He also emphasized that "there is no UN resolution that justifies the neglect of Turkish Cypriots."

According to the Turkish president, contributing to a resolution requires "documenting and explaining the historical background shaped by various ethnic and political conflicts, geopolitical interests, and international intervention throughout history, as well as understanding the sociological structure of the island."

"The Republic of Turkey's goal is to remove restrictions that have no legal basis and are purely political in nature. In this context, I would like to reaffirm my vision of two sovereign states living side by side in a sustainable peace based on the realities of the island," Erdoğan stated.

The archival book, originally published in French by the Main Printing and Publishing Directorate in 1974, has now been republished and translated into Turkish and English, closely aligning with the original text.

The book sheds light on the ethnic and political tensions in Cyprus from the 1960s to the present day, using documents to provide a detailed account of events before and after the Cyprus Peace Operation. It includes news articles, papers, and archival photographs.
