In the United Kingdom, vandals have targeted a tree planted in the name of peace in Cyprus. The tree, planted in the British town of Great Yarmouth, was part of an initiative by the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK to promote "peace and reunification" on the island.

According to reports from the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), the tree was vandalized sometime between May 10th and May 13th. Local authorities are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Christos Karaolis, Chairman of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, expressed gratitude to the police for their assistance and conveyed the "deep shock and disappointment" felt by the local Cypriot community.

The tree in question was one of several planted along the east coast of England, specifically in the towns of Caister-on-Sea and Cromer. These plantings were organized this month with the support of the Eptakomi Association, a Cypriot diaspora group named after the village of Karpassia, which has a significant presence in Norfolk County.
