The 19th Cypriot Silk Festival will be held in Northern Cyprus this weekend
The 19th Cyprus Silk Cocoon Festival will take place in Northern Cyprus over the weekend. The annual celebration is organized by the Municipality of Kyrenia in collaboration with the Office of the Beylerbeyi Muhtar and the Green World Movement.
The festival will take place on May 4-5. The holiday aims to draw attention to the production of silk cocoons. Both days will feature booths with products from local producers and various treats for guests. An extensive entertainment program is also planned with dances, songs, and concerts by local performers.
Additionally, during the festival, silk mulberry seedlings will be raffled among visitors.
The festival will begin on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 and will end on Sunday, May 5, at 19:00 with a concert by the Beyaz Trio. Before the performance, there will be a dance show by the Philippine Association of Northern Cyprus.
Traditionally, the Silk Cocoon Festival will take place in the village of Bellapais.
