Cycling Races to Be Held in Northern Cyprus This Weekend
This Sunday, June 1, Northern Cyprus will host a series of cycling races between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Due to the event, several roads will be temporarily closed to traffic.
According to a statement from the police press office, the Nicosia–Güzelyurt main road, the Alayköy–Metehan ring road, as well as certain intersections and roundabouts along the route, will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the race.
The race will begin at Sevgi Roundabout on the Alayköy–Metehan ring road. Cyclists will ride along the ring road and the Nicosia–Güzelyurt main road, continue to the Yılmazköy underpass, and then return to Sevgi Roundabout following the same route.
Police officers will escort the cyclists to ensure safety, and all roundabouts and intersections on the route will be temporarily blocked off to traffic.
Drivers are advised to follow speed limits, maintain a safe distance from others, and pay close attention to traffic signs and road instructions during the event.
