The UK's new Deputy Foreign Minister, Stephen Doughty, made a statement regarding the country's stance on the Cyprus issue during a foreign policy debate in the House of Commons.

According to the newspaper "Haravgi," Stephen Doughty reported that the new Labour government maintains the UK's support for a bi-zonal, bi-communal federal solution to the Cyprus problem.

In response to a question from Conservative MP and new Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Roger Gale, about the "steps to be taken to resolve the Cyprus issue," Stephen Doughty stated that they continue to adhere to a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation based on political equality and United Nations Security Council resolutions.
