World Theatre Day to Be Celebrated All Week in Northern Cyprus
To mark World Theatre Day on March 27, the TRNC State Theatres will host a full week of free performances from March 24 to March 28.
Under the slogan “More Theatre, More Art,” audiences will have the chance to enjoy five different productions—four for adults and one for children—completely free of charge.
Theatre Week Schedule:
Monday, March 24 | 20:00 – The week kicks off at Eski Mısırlızade Cinema in Nicosia with a performance of The Nose.
Tuesday, March 25 | 20:00 – A staging of The Grönholm Method.
Wednesday, March 26 | 20:00 – The Nose returns for another show, this time at the Erol Avgören Cultural Center in Çatalköy.
Thursday, March 27 | 11:00 – A special children’s play, Dream, will be performed at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Nicosia.
Thursday, March 27 | 20:00 – When the Rain Stops Falling will take the stage at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
Friday, March 28 | 20:00 – The week concludes with Emotion at Eski Mısırlızade Cinema in Nicosia.
World Theatre Day is an annual global celebration of the performing arts, observed every March 27. The event traditionally embraces the theme: “Theatre as a Bridge for Understanding and Peace Between Nations.”
