CTP Deputy Criticizes State of Famagusta Port
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Deputy Erkut Şahali sharply criticized the state of Famagusta Port during a speech in parliament.
Speaking at a session of the Assembly of the Republic (Cumhuriyet Meclisi), Şahali began his speech by saying: "The Port of Gazimağusa has effectively been left without an owner."
According to him, there is chaotic and inefficient use of infrastructure in the port, and the territory lacks even basic conditions to meet people's elementary needs.
The deputy called on the ministers of transport and finance to personally walk through the port area, noting that the sight would "make them feel ashamed."
He also stated that the port's revenue from just a single day could cover the costs of fixing the existing problems.
The parliamentary session, which addressed current issues, has concluded. The next session is scheduled for March 16 at 10:00.
