During the past week, eight fires on Northern Cyprus caused damage of nearly a million lira
From March 18th to 25th, eight fires occurred on Northern Cyprus. The total damage from the fires amounted to almost a million lira.
According to the fire service report, possible causes of the fires include electrical overload, short circuits in wiring, contact of plastic protection on the underside of vehicles with hot air, heating and ignition, as well as unextinguished cigarette butts.
As a result of the fires, damage amounted to a total of 934,000 Turkish lira.
Additionally, during the reporting period, aside from the fires themselves, rescuers responded to 29 incidents.
Firefighters rescued people stranded on the fourth floor of a building using a hydraulic ladder, assisted in retrieving sheep and goats that had fallen into a well, and participated in firefighting training and transporting the deceased to the hospital for forensic examination.
