Tomorrow, Muslims of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will celebrate the festival of Eid al-Fitr
On April 10, Muslims around the world will celebrate the festival of breaking the fast, Eid al-Fitr. The festive prayer will begin in all mosques of Northern Cyprus at 06:37.
It is worth noting that by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the TRNC, the number of days off for the state holiday of Eid al-Fitr has been increased to nine days this year. Monday and Tuesday, coinciding with the eve of the celebration, are declared administrative days off.
Today, devout Muslims continue to prepare for the holiday. Traditionally, on the last day of the month of Ramadan, believers visit the graves of their deceased relatives.
For those Muslims who have been fasting during Ramadan, tonight will be the last iftar. The celebration of Eid al-Fitr will begin tomorrow after the festive prayer. On this day, it is customary to visit elderly relatives and friends.
The top officials of the TRNC will also join in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. The President of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, along with his wife Sibel, will celebrate the holiday at the presidential residence.
The Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Unity Party (UBP), Ersan Saner, will celebrate with party members at the party headquarters. The meeting will begin at 10:00.
It is worth mentioning that according to weather forecasts, light rain is expected on the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated on April 10 and 11, while cloudy weather will persist on other days.
