Famagusta Residents Invited to a Birdwatching Event
On Saturday, January 25, residents of Famagusta will have a chance to enjoy a unique birdwatching experience. The event, titled "Birdwatching in the Grand Garden," is being organized by Friends of Nature, the Cyprus Wetlands Society, and the Social Existence Association.
Participants are invited to gather at 7:00 a.m. near Silver Beach in Famagusta, a spot locally known as "Beton Mevzi."
The event will feature bird observation and population counting in a designated area of the Salamis region. The collected data will be recorded in an international bird monitoring database, contributing to global efforts in conservation.
As part of the event, Asuman Korukoglu, an expert in environmental education and management, will deliver an engaging presentation on birdwatching practices and the ecological importance of protecting bird populations.
According to the organizers, the primary aim of this initiative is to assess the current state of bird populations in the region and to raise public awareness about the need to protect and improve their habitats.
This event is open to everyone, and members of the community are warmly encouraged to join.
