HOW TO APPLY FOR A STUDENT PERMIT in Northern Cyprus - STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
The student permit is obtained upon arrival in Northern Cyprus, rather than in advance. It must be renewed annually in October, meaning that every September or August of each year, you will need to submit a new application.
In 2022, the visa process has been significantly simplified. Here are the steps you need to take:
Upon your arrival at the university, make sure to register and obtain a list of subjects from your supervisor. Visit the student registration office and complete the application form, providing your residential address. The following documents are required for registration:
- Passport;
- Photocopy of passport (photo + all pages);
- Document of residency in North Cyprus, certified by the tax office ( might be not checked)

You need to fill out the questionnaire, and subsequently, you will receive a notification specifying the clinic where you should take the medical analysis and fluorography. Proceed to make the payment in your personal account and undergo the laboratory tests. Additionally, pay for health insurance, which amounts to approximately 2170 TL, inclusive of the analysis. Typically, you can expect to receive the analysis results within 10 days.
Next, ensure you make the payment for the visa application fee in your personal account. Please note that the fee may vary from year to year. Following the payment, it usually takes around two weeks to receive your digital student permit.
