On January 12, frost is expected in the mountains in Cyprus
According to the data from the Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus, on Friday, January 12, the region is under the influence of low pressure.
Today, in the first half of the day, variable cloudiness is expected; the weather will be predominantly overcast, with possible isolated showers, mainly in the west. Wet snow is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos and in the mountains.
According to the meteorological forecast, the daytime air temperature today will reach up to 17°C in the inland areas, around 18°C on the western and northern coasts, up to 19°C on the southern and eastern coasts, and down to 5°C in the mountainous regions, where local frost is possible.
By evening, the weather will be predominantly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected, mainly in the western half of the island. Wet snow is anticipated on the highest peaks of Troodos and in the mountainous areas.
The air temperature will drop to approximately 8°C in the inland areas, down to 14°C on the western coast, to 11°C on the rest of the coast, and down to 1°C in the mountainous regions, where local frost is expected.
On Saturday, the temperature will slightly decrease and approach the average climatic values, and on Sunday, it will slightly increase. No significant changes are expected on Monday.
