Clear Skies with a Dusty Haze Over Cyprus on January 16
The Meteorological Department of the Republic of Cyprus reports that weak high pressure dominates the region on Thursday, January 16, accompanied by a lingering presence of fine dust particles in the atmosphere.
For the first half of the day, most parts of the island will enjoy mostly clear skies with patches of localized cloud cover. There’s a slight chance of isolated showers, mainly in the mountainous areas and the southeast.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 18°C inland, 20°C along the coasts, and 11°C in the mountainous regions.
Tonight, the weather will stay mostly clear, though cloud cover may increase in some coastal areas. Light fog is likely to develop late at night and into the early morning, particularly in inland and eastern regions.
Overnight temperatures will drop to about 8°C inland, 11°C along the coasts, and 4°C in the mountains, where localized frost is anticipated.
Looking ahead, Friday and the weekend will bring mostly clear skies, with occasional patches of cloud cover in some areas.
Temperatures are expected to remain steady, continuing to sit slightly above the seasonal average.
