20-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Connection with Larnaca Shooting
The Famagusta District Court issued an eight-day detention order for a 20-year-old man suspected in connection with a shooting that occurred on January 17 in Larnaca.
The young man was detained on Saturday on the basis of a judicial warrant. The court granted the investigation's request and ordered him to remain in custody for eight days.
The suspect, who has recognized political refugee status, is charged with the possession and transport of a firearm, as well as accessory after the fact.
According to available information, he, along with another individual acting under instructions from a wanted person, assisted in the transportation of weapons and provided aid after the crime was committed. The investigation is ongoing.
