69-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Motorcycle Outside Nicosia General Hospital
Cyprus has recorded its second fatal road accident in just 24 hours. A 69-year-old man was killed after being hit by a motorcycle outside Nicosia General Hospital.
According to a statement from the police, the accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Limassol Avenue.
The victim, Michalis Christoforou, a resident of Agrokipia, was using a pedestrian crossing when a passing motorcyclist hit him.
Both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist were injured in the incident and were taken to Nicosia General Hospital. Despite doctors’ efforts, Christoforou died from his injuries.
The Nicosia Traffic Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This marks the second deadly road accident within 24 hours. Just the night before, a 57-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a separate collision in Larnaca.
